Designed by architects AHR and built by BAM Construct, Ferrovial and Kier Group. The station is on a grand scale with broad passenger footways and a platform that reaches all the way from the Barbican side of Smithfield Market to the Farringdon Underground and Overground stations. The huge decorative pre cast concrete ceiling and perforated wall and ceiling tiles create a futuristic public mass transit hub adjacent to The Barbican Arts Centre and London’s Smithfield market and Hatton Garden Jewellery Quarter, glass panels display a diamond motif to reflect the heritage of the area.
